Blogger Interview: Jaime and Patricia from Two Chicks On Books

Today I have an interview with the two lovely “chicks” behind the blog Two Chicks On Books!

What are you like outside of blogging?

Jaime– Pretty mellow. I love to watch sports and cook and of course read.

Patricia– I’m actually lead a very hectic life. Lol. Not anything exciting either but lots of running around with my husband and our three kids. I also love to read of course and I volunteer quite a bit.

What book changed your life?

Jaime- Honestly? I’d have to say Twilight because it brought me back into reading after a long hiatus and because of that I started blogging. Another is Interview with the Vampire because it introduced me to the world of the paranormal which is my favorite.

Patricia- Life changing? Well, I don’t know that there is one single book that has been life changing but there are many books that have affected me. Harry Potter was a huge one. I honestly think that that this series in particular has brought my family closer together.

What made you decide to start your blog?

Jaime- I had seen a lot of bloggers on twitter and loved their reviews and I thought I could do that I read like crazy anyways.

Patricia- I’d never really considered it until Jaime approached me about it but I have to honestly say that I am really enjoying the experience of it and hope to continue to do it for a long time to come.

What blogs/bloggers inspire you?

Jaime- Rachel from Fiktshun she’s simply amazing! She has 5 blogs I have no idea how she does it. Pam from Bookalicious she’s one of the most helpful peeps and a good friend. Mindy from Magical Urban Fantasy Reads she pushes me to read stuff I normally wouldn’t.

Patricia- There’s so many great blogs out there but I think that my biggest inspiration is Rachel from Fiktshun. She’s ah-may-zee-ing! She has multiple blogs centered on books and they are all a joy to read. I also really love Mindy’s blog (Magical Urban Fantasy Reads) I love her new layout and I love her honest opinion on all her reviews. She does really cute vlogs, too. Kristina from Kristina’s World of Books does some cool features on her blog such a book/photography that I really enjoy.

What are your goals for your blog in the future?

Jaime– Pretty much the same keep reviewing, keep reading, and have fun with it!

Patricia- To keep having fun with the blog but also to just keep enjoying what we are doing.

What is your best book blogging moment?

Jaime– Probably going to RT last year I got to meet some bloggers I had gotten close with and some really amazing authors! Richelle Mead even used a picture of us from my blog post on her blog.

Patricia- I was totally stoked when Cassandra Clare posted a link to my review of Clockwork Prince on her tumbler and we got a gazillion hits. That was wicked. Also, being a blogger I’ve discovered that there are many aspects to the book world having met some awesome authors whether that’s in person or on twitter has been very cool.

  1. AHHHH!! I inspire you Jaime and Patricia! You are sooooo sweet! I didn’t even know that you were interviewed! Katie, you picked the perfect 2 bloggers to interview. I love those girls.

Patricia…The Notebook? That was a surprise!

  2. It’s awesome when moms blog! I think they bring so much energy and enthusiasm to their reviews, and if they have older kids, they often tell us what they thought too.

    Lovely interview 🙂
